On 23rd April, 2024, the Secretariat of the Commission commenced investigations against Rozina Enterprise on allegations of withholding of goods and unconscionable conduct. This followed the inspection done at the shop in Blantyre on 8th March, 2024. During the inspections, it was found that the Respondents were stocking volumes of sugar without selling the products to customers. The Respondents failed to provide a justification for hoarding the sugar.
Upon deliberation, the Commission referred the matter to the DPP to institute criminal proceedings against the Respondents for engaging in withholding of products and for engaging in unconscionable conduct in the trade of goods.
