Apoche Itimu

Ms. Itimu is lawyer with over 10 years of work experience having worked in the public, private and international sectors. She worked as a Conveyancer for a national law firm in UK before serving as a State Advocate for some years. For many years she specialized in civil litigation and legal advisory in many areas of law and litigated in a number of high profile and complex cases in both national and international courts including the COMESA Court of Justice. Thereafter, she worked as a Legal Advisor to an international construction company during which she not only headed the legal department but also worked on high value construction projects such as power plants, dry ports and roads.  Prior to joining CFTC she worked for a South African law firm dealing with competition law, project finance and exoteric commercial transactions.

Ms. Itimu holds an LLM in International Law and World Economy with a distinction from University of East London, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with a distinction from Staffordshire University and an LLB Law Degree (Hons) from University of Northampton. She qualified as a Solicitor in the United Kingdom and is admitted to practice law in Malawi. She is currently studying with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators to qualify as a Chartered Secretary and Administrator.
