The Commission De La Concurrence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (COMCO)—DRC’s Competition Commission—on 20th April 2021, visited the Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) to appreciate enforcement of competition and consumer protection law in Malawi.
Speaking during the visit, CFTC Executive Director James Kaphale noted that it was important that COMCO came to Malawi to appreciate how competition law is enforced, among others.
“This visit is important because it has created a relationship between the two institutions,” said Kaphale.
COMCO which was led by Commissioner Trudon Kalala Nzembela, earlier, signed an MOU with the COMESA Competition Commission whose purpose is to promote and facilitate cooperation and coordination between the two institutions.
