The Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) would like to inform the general public that there has been a voluntary recall of Cevite Vitamin C batch numbers 0371572 and 0372251 by Shalina Pharmaceuticals Zambia Limited. The products have been recalled because they have failed to meet prescribed quality standards.

The inspectors found that the recalled batches of Cevite Vitamin C (batch numbers 0371572 and 0372251) were available in some pharmacies in the city of Lilongwe. The pharmacies concerned were duly ordered to remove the said product from their shelves.
The Commission would like to advise all consumers who may have purchased the recalled products to immediately return them to the source pharmacy or suppliers for proper disposition. The Commission is advising all pharmacies who have stocks of the recalled product to immediately stop selling it and provide a full refund to consumers who bought them.
The Commission is further advising consumers to critically check the material information on the products before purchasing or using them.
